Reverse Mortgages

If you are 62 or older and own your own home, there is a way for you to utilize the equity in your home to improve the quality of your life.  The process is known as a reverse mortgage.

A reverse mortgage allows you to access the equity in your home now, as a lump sum, as monthly payments, or as a credit line.  You will never have to make a mortgage payment again and you retain ownership of your home.  The money you use will be repaid at a competitive interest rate when the last spouse permanently vacates the home, which might be upon passing away or going into a long term nursing facility.  Once you and your spouse permanently vacate the home, you or your estate must repay the mortgage, which is usually accomplished by selling the property.  Any proceeds remaining after repaying the mortgage would be retained by you, your spouse, or your estate.

If you have questions about a reverse mortgage, please call us to discuss whether a reverse mortgage is right for you. Let our family protect yours.
